I’ve a keen aesthetic sense. I appreciate beauty in all its forms and find it even in the simplest of the objects. Here I am going to describe something which holds a special charm for me due to its exquisite nature. It’s nothing else but a piece of jewelry – a splendid necklace which has been there in our family for four generations. It belongs to my great grandmother, then it was passed on from generation to generation and now adorns the jewelry section of my mother.
Although it was with my mother even before my birth, I took notice of it only when I was in VII standard when my mother took it out from the locker to wear the same at my uncle’s wedding ceremony. still remember my mother, wearing this magnificent piece of jewelry with yellow coloured traditional attire, was the center of attraction at the function. If I’ve to furnish the details of how it looks, it’s made of pure gold and is studded with flawless unblemished pearls. The amazing design made with intricate carvings proves how skillful the person who made it was.

The most praiseworthy aspect of this necklace is that it goes with all traditional outfits. It is one inch broad on both ends and four inches in the center. It looks so royal that the one who looks at it once can not take the eyes off and fails to restrict himself from praising its beauty. My appreciation for it multiplied all the more when I found the eminent actress Madhuri Dixit wearing almost the same design in a movie.
My reason for liking it is that it transcends the sense of time. It has not been worn-out with the passage of time; rather it looks equally appealing now as it might have been when it was first worn by my great grandmother. Apart from this, there is an emotional sense attached to it, which is an added charm. Moreover, another fact is that it has never been repolished and still shines as if it is brand new. So, this is the precious object in our family which holds a special appeal to me and fills me with fascination due to its compelling beauty.

Ans. The reasons for carving exotic objects may vary depending upon the type of people who are creating them. The ones for whom it is a source of livelihood, they do it for the sake of attracting more and more customers.
