I have a keen aesthetic sense. I appreciate beauty in all its forms be it the beauty of nature or some fine art. Here I am going to talk about a drawing which I found to be particularly eye catching. This drawing is made by my cousin, a student of sixth standard. I saw this drawing for the first time when last year we went to Chandigarh to meet my maternal uncle who had come back from Canada after 10 years.

While the elders were busy gossiping about one thing or the other, I took the opportunity of befriending with my cousin who was 11 years old then. At that time, she was drawing something. When I asked her to show me what she was drawing, she felt elated as she had found someone who has the same interest as hers. I took her drawing book and started observing the sketches made by her.

Although all her drawings were mesmerizing yet there was one which I found to be quite intriguing. It was that of a mother carrying a baby in her lap. What made this drawing so impressive was the way in which each and every part was given the precise detailing. The picture was so serene that I could not take my eyes off from it and kept watching it intently for a couple of minutes.

I was amazed how a girl of merely 11 can draw with such neatness and precision. I asked if she had learned this art. She said that she drew the sketches on her own without any sort of formal training which filled me with amazement all the more. I appreciated her for her inborn talent and advised her to attain formal training in order to grow her skill further.

I also clicked the picture of her drawing in my mobile phone. It’s been around one year but now too whenever I see the picture of this drawing in my mobile phone, I can’t restrain myself from praising the art of a budding young artist.
