Undoubtedly, due to technical advancements, online shopping is becoming prevalent but still, street markets have maintained their place especially among mediocre people. Here I’m going to talk about a street market which is located in the heart of my city. It is moderately wide which is sprawled almost an area of 2 KM. This market actually set up in the evening and lasts up to 11 P.M so it is called night market.
I can buy everything from this market because almost all essential things are available there whether it is clothing, footwear, cosmetics and even handicrafts which are in great demand especially among the visitors. This market does not only provide a wide variety of products but also assists people to save their hard-earned money because it confers the chance of haggling. Along with it, in every nook and corner of this market, CCTV cameras are installed escape people from being a victim of anti-social activities while shopping.

On the top, this market has great prominence among youngsters because it bestows superior quality mobile accessories such as glass and covers, etc. at an unbelievable price. Additionally, a café is situated in market which is illustrious among the shoppers for its distinct variety of coffee and usages of fresh coffee beans whenever I visit this market I never miss the boat to have a cup of coffee there. I came across this market last year when my bosom friend acquainted me with this and I accompanied him over there.
I was extremely startled by this market’s stalls and price. I purchased a pair of shoes and few cosmetic things from there which were appreciated by my all family members. Since that time it has become my favorite place to shop. I love to do shopping there. One can buy anything from this market like electronics gadgets, household things, food items, cosmetics, footwear, clothing and jewellery. But it is famous for clothing. It opens seven days a week. Whenever, i have to buy my clothes i always go to this market. As i am a student and i always have a tight budget. This market offers discount to his customers So, it is convenient for me.
The thing that makes it more famous is the traditional dresses. We can buy any kind of old and latest dresses at a reasonable prices. Actually, i did shopping in this market, January last year for my cousin’s wedding. I bought a beautiful traditional Punjabi suit and when i wore this on my cousin’s wedding, everybody appreciated my attire.
I felt elated at that moment. Moreover, this amazing market gives their items on rent. In fact, three years ago, when i was pursuing my graduation, my friends and i participated in a traditional dance Giddha. For this, we took traditional clothes, matching jewellery on rent.l really feel lucky that this kind of market exist in my hometown.

At the evening time, it is decorated with colourful lights which amazed everyone. Mostly i go there on weekends. It is always fun to just go to the market and check out new things and do window shopping. I suggested to my friends about this street market.

Answer – Well, there are a lot of ways to do it and I can think of a few right now. Cleanliness is the most important thing and all the vendors can maintain it. Parking can also be coordinated so that the customers can be at ease. There could be eateries so that we can have fun while shopping.
Q2 : Why do you think prices at the street markets are less in comparison to the malls?
Answer – Unlike malls street markets do not have to worry about air conditioners, paying rents, security guards and giving salaries to a lot of staff. There are very few overheads at the street market and so the prices are lesser.
Q3: What things do people generally buy from the street market?
Answer – Most of the time it is food and clothes. At least in my country and in a lot of Asian countries I have seen food and clothes being sold on the streets. Some other things could be footwear, umbrellas, flowers and some miscellaneous things like hats, sunglasses etc.
Q4: What is the best time to shop from the street markets and why?
Answer – That really depends upon what we wish to buy. If it is food and flowers then morning is the best time so that we can get them fresh. However, if it is something else then the afternoon time is better to avoid the rush hours and enjoy shopping with peace and ease.
